New bike and e-bike assembly

A new bike should be assembled before your child rides it.

Boxed bikes can arrive with the front wheel, handlebar, pedals, brakes and controls only partly set up. We assemble and adjust the mechanical components, follow the supplied manufacturer instructions and provide pickup and return so parents can start with a careful mechanical setup.

From box to mechanically ready

What professional assembly includes.

The exact work depends on how the manufacturer packed the bike and which accessories were included.

Box, parts and damage review

We inventory included hardware, keep the manufacturer instructions with the job and flag visible shipping damage.

Front wheel, cockpit and pedals

The wheel, handlebar, stem, saddle and pedals are installed and aligned according to the bike maker's instructions.

Manufacturer-specified fasteners

Accessible assembly fasteners are checked against the supplied instructions and tightened to the listed specifications.

Brakes and controls

Brake alignment, lever feel, control position and cable routing are checked before the bike is considered mechanically ready.

Drivetrain, wheels and tires

Shifting, chain, wheel security, tire pressure and basic wheel alignment are adjusted and inspected.

Final mechanical safety check

The completed bike receives a final inspection and a controlled test ride when its condition and setup allow.

For parents and young riders

Extra care before a kid's e-bike leaves the driveway.

E-bikes are heavier and can accelerate differently than a standard bicycle. A careful mechanical setup is important, but the parent or guardian still decides whether a model is appropriate for the child and riding environment.

  • Review the manufacturer manual for stated rider age, height and weight limits
  • Set saddle, handlebar and adjustable brake-lever reach within the bike's supported range
  • Check steering, wheel attachment, brakes, drivetrain, tires and exposed cable routing
  • Confirm installed accessories do not interfere with wheels, controls or moving parts
  • Document visible damage or setup concerns that should go back to the seller or manufacturer
Book assembly pickup

Before pickup

Three things that help us assemble it correctly.

Keep every part

Leave the bike in its box with the manual, keys, hardware, pedals, reflectors and accessories that came with it.

Add rider details

Include the rider's height, the bike model and any accessories you want installed in your booking notes.

Check the battery first

Do not charge or power on a battery that is swollen, leaking, unusually hot or visibly damaged. Contact us before scheduling normal pickup.

Standard boxed bikes start at $149.

E-bikes and complex assemblies start at $199. Pickup and return are free on scheduled Treasure Valley route days.
